Australian Wildlife Week

Held During the First Week of October Each Year

Australian Wildlife Week 2023

Australian Wildlife Week, established by the Society in 2019, is celebrated nationally during the first week of October each year to encourage a positive relationship between humanity and nature.

This year, we are hosting an Online Webinar and Art Exhibition to celebrate Australian Wildlife Week and inspire community members to implement conservation actions to protect native flora and fauna and conserve natural habitats.

Online Webinar

The online webinar was held on Monday, 2 October 2023, from 11 am - 1 pm (AEST).

The webinar showcased wildlife research and conservation projects across Australia.  We were joined by several keynote speakers who provided an overview of their projects.  We were also joined by several of the Society’s 2023 University Research Grant winners, who summarised their research and the importance of protecting Australian wildlife.

Through the webinar, we hope to inspire community members to implement conservation actions to protect native flora and fauna and conserve natural habitats for future generations.

Art Exhibition

The Society is hosting an Art Display titled Australian Wildlife: A Journey Through Time at Campbelltown City Library (HJ Daley Library), 1 Hurley St, Campbelltown NSW 2560, during October 2023.

The exhibition aims to raise awareness of the importance of conserving Australia’s native wildlife – flora and fauna.  We take the viewer on a journey through time, featuring some of the Society’s critical projects from its inception in 1909 to today.

We encourage community members to visit the exhibition and take action to preserve Australia’s precious wildlife and natural ecosystems.
